The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell University invites applications for tenure-track or tenured faculty positions at Cornell Tech* - Cornell University's campus in New York City.

We welcome exceptional applicants in all research areas of electrical and computer engineering. We are particularly interested in applicants from areas broadly relevant to the current research priorities at the Cornell Tech campus while addressing grand societal challenges in energy, sustainability, computing, transportation, urban infrastructure, information security, and healthcare. Specific research areas of emphasis include: communications, control and sensing systems, image and signal processing, and hardware security for computing and networking.

Applicants must hold a doctorate in an appropriate field by the start date of their faculty appointment. In keeping with the mission of Cornell Tech, applicants must also have a strong interest in activities that reach beyond academia for external engagement and impact, in areas that may include technology commercialization and entrepreneurship, or activities with non-profit organizations, government and policy issues, international programs, or pre-college (K-12) education.  Tenured professor or senior faculty appointments are possible, commensurate with experience and a demonstrated track record of external engagement.

We will begin reviewing and interviewing candidates immediately and continue until positions are filled. Applications received by December 15, 2024, will be given full consideration. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae (CV), brief statements describing researchteaching, and external engagement, and arrange to have at least three reference letters submitted. In the cover letter, CV, or research statement, applicants should identify a small set of their most significant pieces of work.  A distinguishing characteristic of research at Cornell Tech, in addition to world-class academic work, is that it engages deeply with external communities, organizations, K-12 education, and industry to address real-world problems and contexts that amplify the direct commercial and societal impact of our research.

Accordingly, the candidate should submit a statement that addresses prior accomplishments and plans related to commercial and/or societal impact of their research.  We ask applicants to share their experiences and/or approaches (past, current, or future) to fostering learning, research service, and/or outreach in a diverse community.
